Dear Friends of Malvern Cemetery;
The members of the Board of Directors join me in thanking you most sincerely for your continued support of the Malvern Cemetery. Once again, we are launching our annual financial campaign and soliciting donations to ensure that we are able to maintain the highest standards possible in the care and upkeep of the Cemetery. You may forward your donation to: Malvern Cemetery, P.O. Box 306, Station Lennoxville, Sherbrooke, QC J1M 1Z5, or visit our website (www.malverncemetery.com) where you can contribute using PayPal. Whichever method you choose, a receipt for income tax purposes will be sent to you.
Thanking our Donors
We invite you to look at the upcoming Memorial Donation section on our Website. Without your generous support the upkeep of our Cemetery would not be possible.
‘’Getting in Touch’’ – Database:
Our website continues to create interest in our Cemetery and we constantly receive requests and inquiries from around the world, about peoples’ ancestors. The Board of Directors is in the process of finalizing the steps to digitize these records. With over 148 years of history these records are priceless! Once this step is complete, we will work to give assess via our website.
Requests for financial support for this project were made to all levels of government (Municipal, Provincial and Federal). Unfortunately, no funding is available for a private Cemetery. In an effort to prevent the loss of such historically valuable information, we will be budgeting funds to launch this project this year. It is our hope that this undertaking would be of interest to family and friends of Malvern Cemetery and that you will seriously consider making a donation that will allow us to further expand this resource.
Sponsor a Tree:
We are extremely pleased to report that in 2018, we were able to plant 2 more trees thanks to your support of our sponsorship program and we are looking forward to being able to plant even more trees this season. By replacing and adding new trees, we are striving to preserve the beauty of the Cemetery for years to come. Your donation of $350.00 will allow you to sponsor the purchase and planting of a maple tree (Acer Saccharum). To date we have planted only Sugar Maples (Acer Saccharum) but we would consider a flowering, non-fruit bearing species that does not attract deer. (Price to be determined) We invite you to join us in making this wonderful project even more successful!
We had an overwhelming response to our new services and would like to encourage you to take advantage of the following:
|Spring flower planting
There is still time to order flowers
Orders for wreaths must be received by November 1
A photo gallery has been created for our website and we invite all of you to take a look. We encourage anyone who has photos to share to please send them to us so they can be added to the gallery.
For environmental reasons artificial flowers will no longer be allowed in our cemetery.
Bylaw – 27 has been in effect for several years now but we wanted to give all of you a reasonable chance to adjust to this change. Please be advised that, effective immediately, all artificial flowers will be removed.
Any questions regarding lots or maintenance may be addressed to our Cemetery Manager, Ronny Casteur during the summer months at 819-877-2338.
